The CADS Planner Electric is the most versatile and flexible software in the market for producing and editing different building electrification installation drawings. With Electric, in addition to the installation drawings related to electric, telecommunication and data systems, you can also produce, for example, grounding schemas and base maps of the electric distribution networks. The CADS Planner Electric is also an efficient solution for data model based (BIM) building electrical design, which is becoming more and more common in the building trade.

A central part of the efficiency of the CADS Planner Electric is its wide automatic functions. Despite the automatics, the software adapts according to the different presentation and working methods. Naturally, Electric includes wide symbol libraries.

The level drawings application of the CADS Planner Electric offers the tools for producing the most versatile documents:
- the electric installation drawings of buildings (electric, telecommunication, and data systems)

You can concentrate on the designing itself, as the CADS Planner Electric will take care of the routines for you, for example:
- wizard for starting a new drawing
- implementing an architectural drawing as the basis for designing
- managing layers automatically, including complete system-specific (freely editable) layer settings which are in accordance with the recommendations.
Smart wiring routes.
The CADS Planner Electric includes dialogue-based functions for drawing various wiring routes:
- cable trays, raceways / shafts, lighting suspension rails and contact rails
- efficient wiring routes based on the initial data (size, drawing line, etc.) set by the user
- possible to be generated into 3D and transferrable into the IFC data model.
Project-specific electric terminals.
You can easily create and manage the electric terminals (components) to be used in the plans project-specifically:
- the electric terminals can include the 2D and 3D symbol data of the device, product data (the product data of the product database), and information on the installation method, IP class, etc.
- you can create several electric terminal entities (for example manufacturer/customer-specifically), and when necessary, copy them from one project to another.

The CADS Planner Electric’s DB database system includes the following ready-made features:
- complete databases of several different product manufacturers
- the Sähkönumerot.fi database maintained by the SSTL (approximately 210,000 products)
- a direct link to the manufacturer’s product pages for most of the products.
Produce lists automatically.
With the CADS Planner Electric, you can produce project-specific quantity, device, lighting and heater lists. The lists can also be transferred into Microsoft Excel for further processing.
Transfer group information into the centre schemas and back.
With the help of the centre schema link of the Electric Pro software, you can transfer group information from an installation drawing into the centre schema and transfer the changes that might be made back.
Electrotechnical calculations complete the plans.
With the calculating functions of the Electric Pro, you can automatically calculate the short-circuit current and voltage drop values as well as the cable length to the furthest electric point from one or several drawings.
The DIALux link combines illumination analysis and CADS.
With the help of the DIALux link in the Electric Pro software, you can transfer the space information in a CADS drawing into the DIALux, and the results of the lighting plan with Isolux curves can be transferred back into the CADS Planner Electric.
Verified drawing quality.
The CADS Planner Electric will also verify drawing quality with the help of, for example, the wiring check and collision check functions.
From axonometric models into 3D data models.
In addition to the traditional 2D level drawings, Electric will also produce axonometric drawings and 3D plans, which can be saved as IFC data models when necessary.
