Undisputed compatibility.

From DWG files to IFC data models, from taking field-specific standards into consideration all the way to the effective batch processing functions of CADS: the CADS Planner is genuinely compatible!

Excellent and praised DWG compatibility.

The excellent DWG compatibility of the CADS Planner software is already a concept within our clientele. It is not just about the supported file format, but about how the structures of drawings and objects are maintained while opening DWG drawings in CADS as well as while saving drawings in the DWG format.

The CADS Planner reads DWG (and DXF) files dating all the way from the early 1980’s to the latest 2010 version. You can save DWG and DXF files with CADS, from the R14 version to the 2010 version. The excellent compatibility enables the use of old CAD drawing archives as well as smooth co-operation with the different designing parties.

PDF files can be opened, and CADS drawings can be converted in the PDF format as a standard feature of the CADS Planner.

IFC support enables full compatibility for data model based designing.

The CADS Planner is software which also provides full support for data model based designing. The IFC Import support of the CADS Planner basic software allows opening data models in the IFC format. It also enables the production of so-called combination models (architectural+structural+HVAC+electrical) because several models can be imported to the same drawing.

Our design solutions for building services, the CADS Planner Electric Pro (electrics) and Hepac Pro (HVAC) are the software which support data model based designing and which have received the international IFC 2x3 certificate (IFC Export).

The IFC compatibility has also enabled co-operation with other software which is used in data model based designing. For example, all the reservations required by building services which are done with the CADS Planner Electric and Hepac software can be transferred into the Tekla Structures software with the help of IFC.

Efficient batch processing functions for automating the routines.

We feel that good file compatibility by itself is not enough, but things must be made easy for the other party as well. For example, in the CADS Planner Electric, you can save the sheets of multi-sheet circuit schemas as separate files and transfer the objects into the 0 layer with one automatic function. After the other party has made changes to individual drawings, they can be automatically ”bundled” back into a CADS drawing. Then, with the queue saving feature, you can save all the installation drawings in the DWG format; reference drawings will be linked to them; they will be compressed, zoomed, compressed into a ZIP package, and e-mailed to the client. With a single automatic function.

Taking standards into consideration and being the forerunner in the industry.

The new standards in various fields and the operation models jointly agreed upon are always taken into consideration accurately and among the first in the development of the CADS Planner software. We work in close co-operation with the various interest groups of designers and contractors as well as with building developers and product suppliers.
