Kymdata Oy strong contribution into development of Building Information Modelling (BIM) designing method continues. The newest example of this is IFC import functionality divulgement in CADS Planner softwares.

More effective cooperation between different project designers

The support  of drawings and models with IFC file format enables the release of BIM into CADS Planner softwares. This possibility can be used, for example, in the process of designing buildings, when architect building model and HVAC designer model can be used as the basis for the electrical project. Also it amplifies the designing process as the technical equipment, used in projects, is available to check virtually for collisions with other parts of building before the building process begins.

The support of IFC import in all CADS Planner applications

The functionality of IFC import is available in all CADS Planner softwares not depending  on the package. Building information models can be created (IFC export) with the help of electrical designing software application  CADS Planner Pro –Installation Drawings.  The export of IFC file format is certificated  by international IFC 2x3 certificate. IFC import will be certificated in autumn 2009.

Enables the creation of entire models in CADS Planner softwares

IFC import enables the creation of entire models of the buildings. The architect, construction, electricity and HVAC projects are possible to integrate into one entire model.

By  entering the information model of building project it is possible to use different settings for defining the corresponding colour and object type.  Imported object types such as, for example, roof, constructions or building automation can be defined in the function dialogue. When designing, the building model is divided into floors and for activating the floor the special functionality can be used. The building information model components are brought up to the object layer automatically to facilitate the designing process.
