CADS Planner 12 will be released in February 2007

02.01.2007 (Updated: 28.01.2007)

A new version of CADS Planner product family has been released. The English version will be released at the end of February 2007. This new version is a combination of new functionality in basic CAD features and in field specific CADS Planner Applications. Main new features are in 3D designing, object group handling and usability.

More efficient 3D designing

CADS Planner 12 uses OpenGL library that brings more power to 3D functions. Shading shows more colors than before, shaded view can be rotated in real time and light direction can be set. CADS Planner 12 includes also some new 3D objects, 3D polymesh and 3D mesh.

Object group handling

Object group handling lets you manage separate drawing objects as groups. This functionality helps you for example in moving and deleting objects. Field-specific applications use this funtionality to create links between objects so that for example modification of one object can cause modifications also in another object in the same group.

Bitmaps / raster images in CADS Drawing

In CADS Planner 12 it is possible to attach raster images to CADS Drawings. This object is also Dwg compatible.
Support for DWG 2007 version
CADS Planner 12 can read the latest version 2007 dwg files.

Language translation and Excel

Language translation of CADS Drawings has been possible for a long time in CADS Planner. Now the dictionary for translation can be managed in Microsoft Excel. This makes it easy to perform the actual text translation elsewhere and update the translations to CADS Drawings afterwards.

CADS Planner´s IFC Export

CADS Planner 12 can export drawing objects to IFC format. In the future IFC is the most probable format for product models in construction projects. In the first revision of CADS Planner 12 it is possible to export Electric components of CADS Drawing to IFC using CADS Planner Electric Pro. In the future IFC export will be possible in ie. CADS Planner Hepac application.

Technology

CADS Planner 12 is developed using Microsoft´s Visual Studio 2005 (.NET). CADS Planner 12 also uses OpenGL, GDI+ and DAO technologies.
